The http front-end is coded with HTML, Javascript, and cascading style-sheets. Note that for requests returning large volume of data or for multiple and repetitive requests it may be more convenient to access HyperLeda from a script, for example using wget, than from a web browser (the data may overflow its memory).
The http requests are issued with the GET method, as:

Main parameters
A query to HyperLeda has five elements (1) the type of request, (2) the selection in HyperLeda master index, (2) filtering according to some parameters, (4) action performed on the extracted data (pipeline) and (5) output formatting. The corresponding parameters are:

Type of query
- c=: Type of request. The main types of queries are:
  - o, data query for an object (by designation, cone search...)
  - i, access to FITS data
Selection in HyperLeda
- n=: Name of the table to query
- o=: Object designation (for a search by name)
- s=: Sample identifier
Filtering
- sql=: SQL request
- b=: Dataset identification, or bibcode
Pipeline
This is a combination of the following commands
- d: Display the results (all or truncated)
- e: Expose a from to set constrains, order the ouput or choose the outpt format
Output formatting
- a=: Format of output, takes the values h, t, htab, hexp, x or gif for respectively html (hypertext), plain text, html table, expanted table, VOtable, or gif gif. Or a mime-type specifier for FITS output
